Insensitive placing of soap advert

Death Camp Sobibor survivor Thomas Blatt


In his 1997 memoir From theAshes of Sobibor: A Story of Survival, Polish Jew Thomas Blatt writes (p. 87 f) about how an old school friend, a Catholic, had told him to hide from the Nazis in a barn, but then treacherously went to find a Nazi so he could show him where Blatt was hiding.
As a Nazi took Blatt away, his supposed Catholic friend said to him:
"Good-bye! I'll see you on a shelf of soap in a store someday."
Bearing this in mind (along with the fact that Blatt also authored a 1996 article on the Nazis making people into soap experimentally), it was pretty insensitive of the Daily Mirror to place the article and advert below next to each other:
